MODEL SHOW & CONTEST Emerald City Modelers is proud to announce the largest model show and contest in our neck of the woods: OzCon 2010. We took a break in 2009 as we searched for the perfect location to host the show. Now that we've found a great place, we're ready to tell you all about the show. This page has all of the details that you need to prepare for a fantastic experience in the Fall of 2010. Look for our ads in major hobby publications and websites. Help us pass the word along to your modeling pals too! SCHEDULE 9:00 am Doors Open - Registration Begins ADMISSION & CONTEST ENTRY FEE All attendees* pay regular museum admission:

$1.00 for each model entered. *Vendors admitted free with table purchase Vendor and Contest Registration Forms coming soon!! CONTEST CATEGORIES 41 standard IPMS categories plus: Special 2010 Categories: Best Civilian Aircraft or U.S. Coast Guard Subject
Dioramas are eligible for this award. The OzCon Head Judge will have final say over eligibility for this special contest category. The model may be any scale, any era and may be made out of any modeling medium: resin, plastic, wood or even paper. There will be a special trophy for this category. Models will be entered in the standard contest at OzCon and will be eligible for standard awards. Each eligible model will be specially marked and will be judged a second time specifically for this award. Judging for this special category will be independent of the standard contest. Awards given in the standard contest will not affect eligibility for this special award (for example, eligible model A wins best of category in the standard contest, but eligible model B - from the same category as eligible model A - may win this special award instead). Best 1930s Subject Our new location for the show, the Kansas Aviation Museum, was originally dedicated as the Wichita Municipal Airport on March 31, 1935. In celebration of this historic date we are sponsoring a new contest category for the best model of a 1930s subject. Perhaps a pre-war biplane fighter or an early USS Lexington to carry it into the Pacific Theater? Or a 1930s Packard Super Eight? Or a Buck Rogers spaceship from the Golden Age radio drama? Or, if you're REALLY adventurous, how about opening the box and building an actual 1930s era kit? We invite you to use your imagination. VENDORS Detailed information coming soon! OUR NEW LOCATION
